Shuffling

Posted on December 7, 2020December 7, 2020 by admin

I woke up really early and decided to make shuffling an item on the agenda for today’s Major Studio 1. We are a week from the final presentation and I need to decide on the order of presentation. My zodiac sign is Libra and I am afraid of commitments. Yes, I was thinking all of these except actually preparing for the class.

I decided to let my computer do it for me. I quickly put together a processing sketch that does the following things for me:

1. List student names by date.
2. a visualization of names orbiting dynamically around the center of the stage.
3. incorporating a wind sensor to excite the shuffle. This is a sensor that I had recommended to students last week, a great opportunity to demo it – 2 Birds 1 Stone.
4. the actual shuffle that was done with code triggered by any keypress.
5. list the result of the order by date.
